(4-6” tall x 12-24” wide) Plant low-growing ‘Red Wings’ Creeping Phlox to carpet your problem areas and make them come alive with deep pink color in mid to late spring. ‘Red Wings’ is native and a vigorous bloomer – the plants are completely covered in deep pink stars with red centers in mid to late spring. This makes it an ideal companion for late daffodils and other later-blooming spring bulbs. ‘Red Wings’ Creeping Phlox is also a great option for replacing lawns in difficult-to-mow areas, or front of border ground cover where you can fill in bare earth with thick, textured foliage. Creeping Phlox creates a neat edge if trimmed after blooming. Plant in well-drained, sunny soils with average to low fertility. It is a great choice for sandy or rocky soils and is often used as a rock garden plant, or as a trailing accent on the top of sunny stone walls.
